Shadow Galarian Weezing joins evolution pool in Pokemon GO
Pokemon GO’s latest Legendary Heroes event has introduced an unexpected surprise, sparking excitement within the player community. Though many details were revealed before the event, a hidden feature has given players a unique opportunity to expand their collection. The introduction of Shadow Galarian Weezing has Trainers excited in a frenzy. This development has created new buzz and motivation for players to return to the game.
Shadow Galarian Weezing is a dual Poison and Fairy-type Pokemon, which marks a significant difference from the standard Poison-type Weezing. This new typing provides several advantages, such as immunity to Dragon-type attacks and an expanded move set. However, it also brings weaknesses to Ground, Steel, and Psychic-type moves. Players must consider these weaknesses when using this evolution in battles.
Shadow Galarian Weezing in the evolution pool
As part of the Legendary Heroes event, players now have the chance to evolve their Shadow Koffing into the newly introduced Shadow Galarian Weezing. This evolution option was not initially revealed in event details, making it a surprise addition to the game. To evolve Shadow Koffing, players will need to gather 50 Pokemon Candies. Thankfully, it is the same requirement as evolving Koffing into its standard Weezing form.
Shadow Koffing can be obtained during the event in 1-Star Shadow Raids, alongside other featured Pokemon. These Pokemon include the likes of Galarian Ponyta, Darumaka, Goomy, and Jangmo-o. For players who do not already have a Shadow Koffing, this event is an excellent chance to catch one and unlock its evolution potential. With the same amount of candies needed, the evolution to Shadow Galarian Weezing is a “toxic” breeze.
Strategic consideration for players
While the introduction of Shadow Galarian Weezing adds excitement to the Legendary Heroes event, players must weigh the benefits and drawbacks of evolving their Koffing. The dual typing offers new strategic options but comes with additional vulnerabilities. These vulnerabilities or weaknesses could make defending or attacking gyms more challenging.
Since this feature was not pre-announced, it is uncertain how long players will have access to this evolution option. There is speculation that Niantic may remove it in future updates, so players are encouraged to take advantage of this surprise opportunity during the event.
