In a now-deleted post, it was revealed that some of the most high-profile Valorant teams such as Sentinels, Team Liquid, and DRX were invited to compete at the AfreecaTV Valorant OFF//SEASON event.
A Vietnamese streaming platform partnered with AFTV, called OnLive, revealed that EDward Gaming, Sentinels, DRX, Team Liquid, T1, Paper Rex, FANCY, and FULL SENSE were allegedly invited to participate in the AfreecaTV Valorant OFF//SEASON event, which would be held in Seoul, South Korea.
If the teams accept, they will compete in the tournament from Dec. 5 to Dec. 10 in the Afreeca Colosseum.
Teams will compete for a prize pool of $80,000 but other details such as the talent lineup, the format, etc are yet to be revealed.
Several of the teams invited to the event are yet to compete in any official offseason tournament, with rosters being developed in the background.
Team Liquid has yet to announce the new Valorant roster following the removal of Dom “soulcas” Sulcas, Saif “Sayf” Jibraeel, and Igor “Redgar” Vlasov. It’s been heavily rumored that three former Apeks players James “Mistic” Orfila and Georgio “keiko” Sanassy will join the team alongside Enzo Mestari as the in-game leader, according to journalist Alejandro Gomis for Blix.gg.
Teams such as Sentinels and Paper Rex have only made one change during the offseason, whereas DRX has yet to make any changes to the Valorant team.
The offseason is set to conclude shortly after the tournament, since the event takes place in December, just a month short of the VCT 2024 season, which will feature two Masters tournaments and two regular splits.
Madrid in Spain and Shangai in China will host two Masters events next year while Champions will be held in August 2024. Further dates are yet to be revealed.
