Riot Games announced jungler Oskar “Selfmade” Boderek as the LEC Rookie of the Spring Split and André “Guilhoto” Guilhoto as LEC Coach of the Spring Split.

The votes are in and after a highly competitive season, SK Gaming’s jungler Selfmade was crowned the region’s top rookie.

Selfmade received 123 points, surpassing Fnatic mid laner Tim “Nemesis” Lipovšek with 55 points and Splyce mid laner Marek “Humanoid” Brázda with 53.

During the regular season, Selfmade was the key to SK Gaming’s success. The team finished in sixth place after a tiebreaker against FC Schalke 04, just squeaking into the playoffs. The young jungler also ranked first in the “Player of the Game” overall standings with seven points accrued.

Selfmade and SK represent one of the biggest surprises of the spring split. The announcement of Selfmade joining the roster received mixed reactions and was considered underwhelming at the time. But as the season progressed, SK proved to be a worthy contender in the LEC and Selfmade proved a worthy addition to the squad.

The top coaching award went to Origen head coach Guilhoto, who joined the organization in 2018 ahead of the LEC’s first competitive season after the introduction of franchising.

Guilhoto previously worked with Schalke. Under his coaching, that team finished the 2018 EU LCS Summer Split in a surprising second place.

The coach is close to achieving a similar feat with Origen. The organization put together a roster of established players like Erlend “Nukeduck” Våtevik Holm and Alfonso “Mithy” Aguirre Rodríguez.

Origen struggled in the early weeks of the split and fell to seventh by week two. The team slowly recovered and, alongside G2 Esports and Fnatic, became one of the strongest contenders for the spring LEC crown. After finishing the regular season in second, Origen will now face top seed G2 in the LEC’s new playoff format.
