Denis “seized “Kostin is officially a free agent.Â
The announcement came after his being placed on Vega Squadron’s transfer list last month. He joined the team in April when Vega was attempting to rebuild its roster. But it didn’t look like the addition of seized had done much for the struggling side over those four months. Â
The announcement came soon after Dmitry “Dima” Bandurka also declared his free agent status on Twitter. It’s currently unclear what Vega Squadron’s future in CSGO will be.Â
Vega Squadron didn’t manage to qualify for the Berlin Major. This was the first time the organization hadn’t taken part in a CSGO major since PGL Major in 2017. Not that long ago, Vega Squadron also had poor results at the BLAST Pro Series Moscow CIS, losing to Spirit and AVANGAR. This resulted in the the team putting the entire roster on a transfer list.Â
seized’s individual results were also somewhat underwhelming during his time with the squad. Soon after the team fell apart at the Minor closed qualifiers, the 24-year-old sported a 1.00 rating at WePlay! Forge of Masters Season 1. This was his first and only LAN event as part of Vega Squadron.Â
“Free agent from today,” seized simply wrote on Twitter.Â
Despite being released from Vega Squadron, many in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive community still consider him to be a talented player in the CIS region. From 2013 to 2016, seized was a consistent force on Natus Vincere. He became the team’s in-game leader in 2016, but it didn’t seem to work out the way the team had hoped. At that point, seized asked to leave Na’Vi and eventually parted ways with the team that made him famous.
