Riot is bringing more nerfs to healing in LoL patch 11.6

Healing continues to be overtuned in the current League of Legends meta, and Riot will be bringing more nerfs to it in patch 11.6.

Riot will be making nerfs to certain sustain items and runes for the upcoming patch 11.6, according to recent updates on the Public Beta Environment (PBE). While these changes are by no means final yet, it looks like life steal on several items will take a hit as well as the omnivamp gained from the Ravenous Hunter rune.

Testing round 2 of systemic healing reduction for 11.6

In some cases this will be nerfs but in others it will be shifting stats keeping power neutral

After recently nerfing Grievous Wounds to start off season 11, Riot will be targeting items this time around. After healers have already been dealt with, the self-heal from life steal and omnivamp remains a problem in the game. To try and fix that, Riot will increase the total cost of Bloodthirster, Ravenous Hydra, Blade of the Ruined King, Sanguine Blade, Immortal Shieldbow, and Eclipse by 50 gold. This will make all of these items just a bit more expensive to get, delaying the resulting power spikes slightly.

On top of that, the flat life steal from Blade of the Ruined King, Immortal Shieldbow, and Vampiric Scepter will be reduced by a couple of percentage points to make the stat less overtuned in general. This might open up for other build paths to certain champions and make sustaining a bit harder.

The nerfs could affect some champions quite a bit, but should also open up for other champions to enter the meta who aren’t reliant on life steal.

To round out the healing nerfs, Riot is targeting Ravenous Hunter as the only rune for now. Ravenous Hunter can be a very strong rune choice with the right amount of Bounty Hunter stacks, providing omnivamp. The omnivamp from these stacks will likely be lowered, making it harder to snowball a lead through Ravenous Hunter.

For now, the changes are out for testing. Not all of them may make it to live servers on patch 11.6.

When is LoL patch 11.6 being released?

LoL patch 11.6 is the next patch to hit the live servers and is currently being tested on PBE before Riot makes final decisions. The patch is set to go live on Wednesday, March 17.
