The first set of skins of 2020 is now available, so get ready for Mecha Kingdoms.

League of Legends is starting the year with a new skin thematic. Mecha Kingdoms was revealed back in 2019 and the set of skins is finally available on the store. Garen, Leona, Draven, Sett, and Jax are the champions getting mecha skins.

The Mecha Kingdoms set is the first one of many that will hit the store in 2020. According to Riot Games, there will be over 120 skin releases this year, the most in a single year so far. Some of the champions getting new skins include:

Does this mean there won’t be another Lux skin this year? Of course not. Riot Games is planning on releasing new skins for Lux and other popular champions like Ezreal, Kai’Sa, and Ahri as well. It was also confirmed that Gangplank, Lee Sin, Malphite, Vayne, and Thresh are the champions chosen by FunPlus Phoenix for their World Championship skins.

Bigger and better events in League of Legends

Riot Games also confirmed that in 2020, all events are featuring a game mode, so there will be new game modes in the future. Each event includes an event pass, Riot Games changed the reward system so players get the most out of the passes without having to grind too hard.

The new and improved Eternals feature will return soon. In the first iteration of the feature, players could only purchase it through RP. Players criticized it and were extremely vocal about their discontent. Riot Games took that feedback into consideration and now the starter series can be purchased using blue essence. Other Eternals can be earned by playing ranked games.

Unique Eternals were modified so it tracks more complex and specific aspects of every champion. Players can also toggle the Eternals to choose how frequently they see it on the screens.

Riot Games also promised more content for this year that will be announced soon. Is 2020 the year when League of Legends finally gets map skins?
