Riot Games Announces Updates Ahead of Valorant Patch 9
Riot Games Announces Updates Ahead of Valorant Patch 9
Valorant fans are on edge waiting for the release of the next patch. But as they wait, Riot Games has announced several changes that will be coming with patch 9.10, including some unprecedented additions.
What is the New Valorant Patch 9.10 Armour?
Riot Games has announced the Regen Shield which will be unveiled with patch 9.10. This specific armour name suggests that it will allow players to regenerate after attacks and is bound to be a popular choice. Players can extend duels by recovering from damage and even regenerate after winning.
Patch 9.10 will be released on November 19, 2024, and will also come with updates for the characters.
Phoenix:
His flame wall can penetrate solid objects, making him a more versatile character. He can also recharge his flash after every two kills, becoming his signature skill. Players will get a free flash every round and will only need to pay for an extra one. At the same time, hot hands has been downgraded to a basic skill and can’t be recharged after two kills.
Gekko:
Reclaiming DIzzy and Wingman will look a lot different once patch 9.10 is released, Riot Games has confirmed, though no specifics have been given. On top of this, the agent’s ultimate cost has gone up by one point.
Gekko and Phoenix are not the only characters that are getting upgrades. Sage and Cipher are also rumoured to be updated in the upcoming patch, though we don’t yet know what.
There have been a lot of changes in the Valorant universe in recent times. Patch 9.08, for example, saw improvements to the Sunset B site. Characters like Gekko, Wingman, Dizzy, and Yoru also saw updates that fans have been mostly pleased with. And clearly, there is even more to come.
As Valorant designer Dan Hardison has explained, many of these changes are deliberately being made during the offseason. The reason? No VCT matches are being held and this means no disruptions will be caused. If these changes continue to be so well-received, the next crop of VTC matches will be even more exciting.
