Results of the Battle of the Betway CSGO tournament
Results of the Battle of the Betway CSGO tournament
Owned by Super Group, Betway is one of the biggest bookmakers in the world, and has recently shown increased interest in the world of esports. As part of that campaign, Betway ran its Battle of Betway CSGO tournament.
The event drew massive interest from CSGO teams from around the world, with five of the biggest teams in the world making the cut and competing for the top prizes. This was the biggest esports tournament held by Betway to date, and it was one that put the sports betting operator truly on the map when it comes to tournament organizing.
Five of the World’s Best Teams Compete
It was interesting to see the event draw incredible interest from some of the world’s biggest and most popular CSGO teams. European squads G2 Esports, BIG, and Ninjas in Pyjamas all made their way to the tournament, with Brazil’s MIBR and FURIA also making appearances.
This kind of competition does not go unnoticed, and sites like MBS and others helped the CSGO fans find the right places to bet on the event that truly offered a spectacle.
In preparation for
the Stockholm Major, CSGO fans could enjoy live streams of all the matches from the Battle of Betway, with major talents like Anders and Semmler calling the matches live.
Ahead of the tournament, representatives of all the five teams expressed their immense excitement to be participating in the event. It was both a great opportunity to compete and to prepare for the PGL Stockholm Major.
Final Results
By the time all was said and done, it was G2 Esports that won the Battle of Betway and took the crown. After being first in the group stage, only losing to FURIA, they proceeded to get revenge in the semifinals and take down MIBR in an exciting 16-13 finals victory.
While European fans were perhaps disappointed to see NIP and BIG suffer lopsided defeats to the Brazilian sides who ended up taking second and third in the tournament, G2 Esports gave them something to smile about.
The invitational tournament was a great opportunity for the teams to compete one last time before the PGL Stockholm Major. Betway was able to host a spectacular event and once again showed that they are a name to be looked to when it comes to esports.
