Following an abundance of rumors, Respawn Entertainment finally confirmed that Apex Legends would be getting a mobile release. But what is the actual release date for Apex Legends Mobile?

Apex Legends is still going strong as one of the most popular battle royales on the market. The modern FPS has garnered players’ interest with its unique, massive battleground and fast-paced gunplay. Fans of all shooter sub-genres have found something to love in Apex Legends, which has made it a darling among those frustrated with other games.

However, Respawn isn’t limiting this fun to PC and console players. Fans have been eager to try out a mobile version since the developer announced it in 2021. Here’s everything we know so far about the Apex Legends mobile release date.

When is Apex Legends coming to mobile?

Apex Legends Mobile is set to launch in 2022, with a beta having been rolled out in select regions in 2021.

According to the developer, the character-based battle royale has already entered the beta testing phase. Respawn recently announced that a soft launch is happening soon in 2022.

Beta testing began in the first half of 2021, which allowed select players in India and the Philippines to take the mobile version for a spin. This exclusive access was only available for Android users. However, Respawn has announced that the game will soon be available to a larger audience.

According to the publisher, a soft launch should happen “soon.” This launch allows players in specific countries to pre-book their slots. These are the countries included in Respawn’s list for the soft launch.

  • Argentina
  • Columbia
  • Mexico
  • Peru
  • Indonesia
  • Malaysia
  • Philippines
  • Singapore
  • Australia
  • New Zealand

Players in these countries should be able to try out the exclusive mobile version in mid-February. The exact dates are unknown but are likely just days away. Leaks suggest that there will be two versions of Apex Legends Mobile, with a global version and a censored version for Chinese markets.

Considering the pace with which Respawn is handling the mobile version, the game should be available for all by the end of 2022. The beta tests and soft launch versions shouldn’t run for a long time. Those who participated in the beta have praised it for its handling and graphics.

Will Apex Legends Mobile have cross-play?

Apex Legends Mobile is being rebuilt for mobile devices, so it won’t feature cross-play with the console or PC versions of Apex Legends.

All in all, the publisher is actively working to roll out Apex Legends for mobile gaming enthusiasts. This will make for an optimized mobile version of the game, rather than a direct port like the one Fortnite received.

Riot Games has also announced Valorant mobile, so 2022 should be a great year for mobile phone FPS players.
