One of the biggest names in European League of Legends is looking for a new home for the 2021 LEC season.

The long time Fnatic bot laner Martin “Rekkles” Larsson has officially moved on from Fnatic, according to the organization’s official Twitter account. The Swedish superstar will therefore be moving to a new team for the 2021 LEC season, but it is still unknown just where his new home will be.

The only thing certain in life is change.

After an incredible career in the black and orange, Martin “Rekkles” Larsson has decided to move on from Fnatic.

Rekkles leaves Fnatic for the second time in his career, the first time being back in 2014 when he left to join Alliance. Rekkles returned to Fnatic in May 2015, as his journey to Alliance and later on to Elements didn’t work out. He has since been the face of Fnatic and has won three domestic trophies with the team, as well as making it to the Mid-Seasonal Invitational in 2018 and progressing to the 2018 World Championship final, which Fnatic lost to Invictus Gaming.

Could Rekkles join G2 Esports for the 2021 LEC season?

A lot of speculation about Rekkles has been floating around social media lately after the Swede officially became a free agent on November 16. Several possible new teams have been circulating, but one team that has been mentioned throughout is Fnatic rival G2 Esports.

G2 Esports recently released bot laner Luke “Perkz” Perković, leaving some big shoes to fill in the bot lane. One of the obvious choices would be Rekkles, as he has a lot of experience and is known to be the best bot laner in Europe.

LCS teams have reportedly also shown interest in Rekkles, but it currently looks like the veteran bot laner will look to stay in Europe. The most obvious choice for Rekkles is G2, as they are in need of a world-class bot laner. Rekkles has always been driven by the competition and seems to weigh the potential for new trophies higher than money.

Rekkles is expected to sign a new contract within the next few days.

What team is Rekkles on?

As Rekkles leaves Fnatic, he is no longer officially on a team. Rekkles will without a doubt be back for the 2021 season with a new team, it’s just a matter of time before he signs a new contract.

Rekkles is an all-time great in European League of Legends and should currently be considered the biggest free agent in the West. Rumors say that Rekkles will be joining G2 Esports.
