Galarian Ponyta and Rapidash highlighted for Ponyta Community Day

Pokémon trainers rejoice! Niantic has hinted at the beloved Ponyta Community Day on social media. Recently, Niantic shared a teaser video revealing Ponyta and a Galarian Ponyta. This event is most likely as soon as the next month of September, 2024.

Pokémon GO took the internet by storm when it was released in 2016, urging all players to catch their favorite Pokémon nearby. Published by Niantic, Pokémon GO is a free-to-play augmented reality mobile game available worldwide. It uses players’ real world location to locate, capture, and battle virtual Pokémon. Shortly after release, it became one of the most used and profitable mobile app of 2016. Although it launched with 150 species of Pokémon, it steadily increased the amount to over 1000 total species.

Recently, trainers were teased by Niantic via an X post on August 20, 2024. The teaser was a brief clip featuring Ponyta and Galarian Ponyta gracefully galloping through a beautiful meadow, hinting at Ponyta Community Day. It is a fair speculation that the next Community Day, on September 14, will be featuring Ponyta with its both forms.

What to expect from Ponyta Community Day?

Introduction art for Pokémon Go Community Day

Launching the new Pokémon GO season, starting in early September, the Ponyta community Day will be the starting event of the season. Rest assured, there are two more events slated for October 5 and November 10. During this special day, trainers can expect an increase in Ponyta spawns, providing plenty opportunities to catch this elusive fire-type Pokémon. Not only will you be able to catch its basic form, but the Psychic and Fairy type form will be available to catch as well.

If that wasn’t enough, the event will feature special research tasks that offer unique rewards, too. Trainers will also have the opportunity to evolve Ponyta into Galarian Rapidash. The evolution comes with new and exclusive moves not available through other means. This advancements adds a new layer of excitement and strategy, making the event even more engaging for players.

It’s time for trainers to acquire plenty of Poke Balls and berries, set reminders, plan routes, and share their best Ponyta encounters on social media. With these thrilling features packed into one day, Ponyta Community Day is shaping up to be an unforgettable event.
