A day after getting demonetized on Elon’s X, political streamer and commentator Steven “Destiny” Bonnell has been banned on Kick.
Destiny is known for his bold political commentary and often problematic takes against those with opposing ideologies. After being banned from Twitch in 2022, Destiny took his commentaries to Kick, a platform known for championing free speech and having more relaxed rules compared to its competitors. However, fans were left shocked when Destiny was banned on Kick on July 17.
Soon after getting his X page demonetized, Destiny was made aware that his Kick channel was showing an “Oops, something went wrong. We can’t find the page you’re looking for” error.
Destiny was banned on Kick for hate speech after sharing his opinion regarding the shooting at the Donald Trump rally in Pennsylvania.
On his livestream on July 15th, Destiny discussed the shooting incident at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania, where one attendee lost their life. Destiny’s comments about the deceased firefighter were disrespectful, as he mentioned that he would mock any Trump supporter who faced a similar fate without showing any regret.
His strong remarks quickly went viral on social media, prompting X to pause his ad revenue for “breaching creator monetization standards.” Soon after, he was banned on Kick as well. According to the fans, this has to be the first time someone got banned on Kick for hate speech, considering the platform’s flexible and forgiving attitude.
Destiny, on the other hand, is not too fazed by the ban as he continues to post hateful content on X. According to the streamer, he’ll never apologize for the way he “treats conservas—s in this country.”
Destiny will return to streaming after his Kick ban which lifts in two weeks on July 31, 2023.
