The Pokemon GO Legendary Heroes Shield and Sword sides

Pokemon GO: Complete Legendary Heroes Collection challenge

Reading time: 3 min

The Pokemon GO Legendary Heroes Collection Challenge introduces a unique experience for trainers, featuring both catch-based and trade-based tasks. This event is divided into two paths: Sword and Shield, each offering different Pokémon to catch or trade. Below is a step-by-step guide to help you complete the challenge successfully.

Step 1 – Choose your path of Legendary Heroes challenge

At the beginning of the event, trainers must select either the Sword or Shield path. Your choice determines which Pokémon will appear in the wild and which ones you’ll need to trade with others to complete the challenge. The difference is as follows:

  • Sword Path: Catch Pokemon such as Galarian Darumaka, Scraggy, Seedot, and Grookey.
  • Shield Path: Encounter Pokemon like Galarian Ponyta, Solosis, Croagunk, and Sobble.

Keep in mind that some Pokemon will only spawn for players who choose the corresponding path, meaning you’ll need to trade with a player on the opposite path to complete the challenge.

Step 2 – Catching the required Pokemon

Once you’ve selected your Legendary Heroes path, start catching the required Pokémon. Use Incense to increase your chances of encountering specific Pokémon, as some of them, such as Gothita, Swirlix, or Solosis, are more likely to appear with the help of Incense. The Pokemon available for each path are follows:

  • Sword Path Pokemon (available in the wild or via Incense)
    • Galarian Darumaka
    • Swirlix
    • Gothita
    • Seedot
    • Scraggy
    • Grookey
    • Scorbunny
    • Sobble
  • Shield Path Pokemon (available in the wild or via Incense)
    • Galarian Ponyta
    • Spritzee
    • Solosis
    • Lotad
    • Croagunk
    • Grookey
    • Scorbunny
    • Sobble

Step 3 – Complete the Trade component

To finish the Legendary Heroes collection, you will need to trade Pokémon exclusive to the other path. If you’re on the Sword path, you will need to trade with trainers on the Shield path to get Pokémon like Lotad and Solosis, and vice versa. The respective Pokemon required to trade and complete are as follows:

  • Sword Path Pokemon to trade
    • Croagunk
    • Lotad
    • Solosis
    • Spritzee
  • Shield Path Pokemon to Trade
    • Gothita
    • Scraggy
    • Seedot
    • Swirlix

Coordinate with other trainers in your area or through online communities to complete these trades. Be sure to check local trading conditions, such as distance requirements, and plan accordingly.

Track your Legendary Heroes collection

As you catch and trade, monitor your progress through the in-game Collection Challenge tracker. This will ensure you’re on the right path to completing the challenge before it expires.

The Legendary Heroes Collection Challenge adds an interesting twist by requiring both catching and trading Pokémon from the Galar region. Choosing the right path, catching all necessary Pokémon, and trading with other trainers will help you complete this event successfully.
