Pentakills are always a pleasure to watch in League of Legends, but this Gragas combo takes it to another level in Nexus Blitz.Â
In a recent Nexus Blitz highlight, a Gragas player managed to secure himself a pentakill with just a single spell rotation. The clip instantly went viral, as the Gragas found all five of his opponents clumped up in the mid jungle. The Gragas saw his chance to make classic Body Slam (E) plus Flash combo into tons of damage.Â
It’s easy to tell that the Gragas in the clip was able to time his combo perfectly in the small window before opponents could react. By using Body Slam before Flash, the Gragas closed the gap in an instant while also knocking up four of the opponents. He followed it up with an empowered auto attack from Drunken Rage (W).Â
To dish out the damage necessary, the Gragas player finished all enemies with a quick Barrel Roll (Q) and his Explosive Cask (R) to complete the big multi kill. Even though the combo didn’t take more than one second to pull off, the Gragas went through all four abilities in quick succession, and it paid off.Â
A full ability power Gragas isn’t seen that often anymore, but the build can be both fun and destructive. Back in the early seasons of competitive League of Legends, Gragas was known as a burst mid laner, which resulted in several crazy clips on the big stage.Â
One of the most memorable Gragas highlights in pro play was during Battle of the Atlantic in 2013, where Team ALTERNATE took down CLG after an insane burst combo from mid laner Adrian “Kerp” Wetekam.Â
This is only one of many Gragas highlights, and it hopefully won’t be the last.Â
No, Nexus Blitz is not gone. The game mode is featured throughout December but only for a limited amount of time. Riot brought it back for the ongoing Battle Queens event, where players are allowed to duke it out in the highly action-packed game mode. Â
Gragas has been a solid pick in the jungle for a while and is currently also a pick that players can climb with in solo queue. As of patch 10.25, Gragas is sitting at a healthy 49.53% win rate which indicates that Gragas is currently in a pretty balanced spot. Great Gragas players can pull off a much higher win rate though, as Gragas is a champion that can carry if he gets ahead.Â
Gragas can be bought in the LoL client store for either 3150 Blue Essence or 790 Riot Points. Gragas is an old champ and has therefore seen some decreases in price over the years. He isn’t one of the cheapest champions in the game, but he is definitely affordable.Â
