Pizza Hut may or may not be looking to hire a Call of Duty pro

In one of the strangest signs of how far competitive gaming has come over the years, Pizza Hut is looking to hire a professional Call of Duty player.

The restaurant chain posted a job listing on LinkedIn, putting out a casting call for a legitimate esports talent. Why? Nobody seems to know.

“We’re looking for brilliant Call of Duty Pro Players to take on clients locally. Are you knowledgeable, friendly and professional? Are you looking for new clients? If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you,” the ad description states.

The job listing goes on to say that they are looking for someone who is “experienced” and “personable” who can help clients “level up.” The role would apparently involve helping players rank up, unlock items, or improve their KDA.

While gaming coaches have long existed in a multitude of titles, it remains unclear why Pizza Hut, of all places, is looking for one.

Upon closer examination, applying to the job listing will direct people away from Pizza Hut and towards Adzuna, an agency. This doesn’t clear up what the job is or why Pizza Hut is seeking CoD players, but it does reveal that the job makes about $15 an hour. For most CoD pros this is probably not a very appealing amount.

Though player salaries are rarely public knowledge, CoD pro Nathan “Natshay” Dupuis gave fans a general idea of what they’re worth during his breakup with Denial Esports. He claimed he was signed to the organization for $5,000 per month, a sum that is more than double what Pizza Hut is offering.

Dexerto reached out to Pizza Hut to find out why they were looking to lowball CoD professionals.

“Hmm, that’s odd. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. We’ve flagged this with the correct team internally and they’re looking into it,” Pizza Hut tweeted to one of their writers.

Meanwhile, the job posting remains active.
