Overwatch 2 players are frustrated after mysteriously losing their Mythic skins. Why did the Overwatch 2 Mythic skins disappear? Here’s what we know.

On May 14, Blizzard Entertainment released a mid-season patch for Season 10 that buffed specific tanks and DPS heroes. However, shortly after the update, players reported being disconnected mid-game or experiencing game crashes. This led to a quick investigation from Blizzard, who assured that a fix would be rolled out soon.

Players noticed their treasured Overwatch 2 Mythic skins gone from the game sometime after this update. Instead of Mythic items, player models carried default Overwatch 2 skins. However, the skins were marked as “owned” in the item shop, which was a relief. But, the mysterious disappearance of Overwatch 2 Mythic skins was a cause for concern.

Thankfully, Blizzard quickly cleared the air.

Where did my Overwatch 2 Mythic skins go?

To fix mid-game crashes, Blizzard had to disable Mythic skins temporarily. Rest assured, they’ll return to your inventory once the glitch is ironed out.

Blizzard about Overwatch 2 Mythic skins

Taking it to the official Overwatch 2 forum, Blizzard explained that the skin had been removed to investigate the bug causing the game to crash. The Mythic shop had also been turned off to tackle the glitch. Those who may have left the game during the sudden disconnects or Mythic skins disappearing will not be penalized, Blizzard said.

“We are temporarily disabling all Mythic Skins as we investigate an issue discovered in today’s patch that is leading to crashes or disconnections from various matches when those skins are equipped,” Blizzard explained.

Players can still equip their Rare, Epic, or Legendary skins. As of now, it’s unknown when the Mythic skins in Overwatch 2 will return, but it shouldn’t take long before Blizzard fixes the issue. The game is currently running per normal, with the exception of Mythic skins. So, players can still play their regular games if they don’t mind entering the battlefield without their usual drip.
