Omega League EU Divine sees HellRaisers, Cyber Legacy dominate
The Omega League Europe Immortal division has been getting the majority of the attention at the Dota 2 event, but the Europe Divine division features some great teams has also been interesting.
The most interesting of those teams competing has been Cyber Legacy lineup. The squad of CIS veterans made its debut at the event and demolished the competition in the group stage with a 5-0 run.
After taking 2-1 series victories over Voldemort and Khan, the team was utterly flawless. 2-0 sweeps over Tempo Esports, EXTREMUM, and Omegalil advanced Cyber Legacy to a perfect 5-0 record in the round robin, with a map record of 10-2.
Cyber Legacy competed in Omega League with the following roster:
- Zaur “Cooman” Shakhmurzaev
- Idan “MagicaL” Vardanian
- Evgeniy “Blizzy” Ree
- Danil “Bignum” Shehovtsov
- Semion “CemaTheSlayer” Krivulya
The team is big on name value, bringing together castoffs from Natus Vincere, Virtus.pro, and other formidable CIS squads. While they didn’t find success previously, they could be positioned for success.
Though they have been benefiting from comparably weak competition in the Divine division, they’ll be competing against some opponents from the Immortal division in the playoffs. If they can keep up their group stage form against those foes, Cyber Legacy could become a serious contender in the CIS region.
HellRaisers, Team Unique look strong in Omega League EU Divine division
On the other side of the group stage, HellRaisers and Team Unique looked to be a cut above the competition. Both teams posted a 4-1 record, but HellRaisers will get the upper bracket playoffs spot despite losing to Team Unique in the group due to its 9-2 record, compared with Unique’s 8-4 record.
Unique performing well isn’t much of a surprise, as the CIS squad has been finding abundant success on the regional circuit. For HellRaisers, this could be a sign of a turnaround.
The organization has historically posted mixed results, but has been performing very poorly since making a return to Dota 2’s CIS region at the start of the season. HellRaisers posted a solid performance in Parimatch League Season 3 and followed it up with a strong run in Omega League. As with Cyber Legacy, HellRaisers has a chance to make a statement win in the playoffs.
Both teams are currently waiting for the Omega League EU Immortal Division group stage to wrap up. The list of possible opponents includes the likes of Team Liquid, Alliance, Virtus.pro, and Natus Vincere.
