Old Town Road singer Lil Nas X to headline TwitchCon Party

TwitchCon has announced the TwitchCon Party headliner.

Popular country rapper Lil Nas X will be the headliner for the TwitchCon Party, a complimentary concert to the main event. The news was announced on TwitchCon’s website.

Lil Nas X took over the charts in March with his hit song Old Town Road and stands as a huge get for TwitchCon. Old Town Road recently became the third song in history to spend over 15 weeks at number one on the Hot 100 chart. Lil Nas X celebrated by releasing a new remix featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, Young Thug, and Mason Ramsey.

The new music video alludes the recent Area 51 meme that is taking over the internet.

Additionally, in an effort to promote his appearance Lil Nas X teamed up with popular streamer Imane “Pokimane” Anys for an EP listening party on her stream. Pokimane will also be in attendance for TwitchCon.

Lil Nas X has been one of music’s breakout stars this year. The songwriter was named one of TIME’s most influential people on the internet alongside Ariana Grande, YouTuber Liza Koshy, streamer Benjamin “DrLupo” Lupo, and others.

The TwitchCon Party Is taking place at Petco Park on September 28. The location is minutes away from the San Diego Convention Center, where the actual convention will be held. Fans that wish to attend must purchase the “3 Day + Party” pass.

The TwitchCon event is more than a meet up for content creators and fans. In addition to the concert, the three-day event will highlight Twitch’s efforts in a number of different fields, including esports. TwitchCon will host different esports competitions, including a Twitch Rivals tournament which will pit streamers against each other.

In the meantime, Twitch Rivals is hosting a Teamfight Tactics showdown starting on July 17 with 64 content creators competing. Divided into two groups, the streamers will compete in five different rounds with the top 16 advancing to day two.
