OG, TNC Predator receive invitations to ESL One Birmingham 2020
OG and TNC Predator are among the first invitees to ESL One Birmingham 2020.
ESL has started announcing the participants for the upcoming event. The tournament boasts a prize pool of $300,000.
Although it is not a Dota Pro Circuit event, the ESL One event series still attracts many of the best teams in the world. Part of this is the ESL One Most Valuable Player Award, which gives top performers a brand-new Mercedes-Benz car. Dota 2 fans have latched onto this as well, reveling in seeing their favorites receive a large prize. Park “March” Tae-won is the most recent ESL MVP Award recipient, earning the prize after leading TNC to victory at ESL One Hamburg 2019.
ESL One Los Angeles and ESL One Birmingham MVP winners are next in line.
This invitation is great news for TNC’s pro players and fans. The team is the current top seed in the Dota Pro Circuit, but its poor showing in the regional qualifiers of ESL One Los Angeles and StarLadder ImbaTV Minor Season 3 will see the team miss this major cycle. If the team can’t dominate the region, how can it dominate the world?
OG looking to keep up momentum at ESL One Birmingham 2020
Another huge name that will participate in the tournament is the fan favorite OG.
OG’s new roster is off to a great start. Despite being rebuilt, the players seem to complement each others’ playstyles. OG dominated the European region in the ESL One Los Angeles qualifier after its long break from competition.
Johan “N0tail” Sundstein expressed his excitement to participate in the tournament together with his new squad. “We’re going to Birmingham for a third time,” he said in a video published by ESL. “This is a new squad, new year and I’m very excited to get all this good Dota going…see you there, fans.”
ESL One Birmingham will start on May 26, and will feature 12 teams battling for the championship title.
