OG drops Pajkatt after just two months of play
OG drops Pajkatt after just two months of play
After only two months in the OG roster, Per Anders ‘Pajkatt’ Olsson Lille is parting ways with the defending TI champions.
The beginning of the new Dota Pro Circuit season was a setback for OG as the team failed to qualify in The Chongqing Major. OG’s first participation in a DPC tournament resulted in a fifth-place finish in the European qualifier. Fans were surprised to see the defending champions place behind such teams as The Final Tribe and Alliance.
It seemed that the post-TI slump had hit the current Aegis holder. The decision to bench former carry Anathan “ana” Pham has undoubtedly played a huge role to the team’s current dip in performance. Pajkatt tried to fit the role vacated by Ana, but the young Australian phenom’s shoes have proven difficult to fill.
In a post on the team’s Facebook page, OG explained that Pajkatt was a mechanically gifted player and a true professional. Despite these qualities, the team faced chemistry issues in the weeks following Pajkatt’s joining the Dota 2 team’s roster.
OG recently qualified to The Bucharest Minor, which will conclude on January 13. This gives the squad a second shot to make it to The Chongqing Major if they can win it all in Bucharest. OG assured fans that Pajkatt will receive his cut from the Minor tournament’s prize money after helping his teammates to qualify to the event.
A few hours after announcing the departure of Pajkatt, Igor “iLTW” Filatov was brought in by OG as a stand-in to play at WePlay Dota 2 Winter Madness. iLTW is the current hard carry for ESPADA.
OG is yet to make an announcement on iLTW’s potential future with the team, or if another player will be carrying the mantle for the TI8 Champions.
