Norme leaves YouTube concerned after not sleeping for over 250 hours on livestream

Norme has been banned on two top streaming platforms out of three for staying awake for over 250 hours.

Streamers do all sorts of marathons to boost viewership on their broadcasts. However, only a few qualify as dangerous. Most recently, iShowSpeed got banned on YouTube for pulling off a risky stunt of jumping over two speeding cars. Now, a streamer known as Norme has been banned on YouTube, and then Kick, due to concerns about his well-being.

Norme stayed up for 264 hours and 24 minutes for his no sleep record stream, ending his stream on Rumble.

Why did Norme get banned?

Norme no sleep

On August 1, Norme set out to stay awake for 12 days on a YouTube livestream, but his broadcast wasn’t without interruptions from the platform and authorities. He was banned on YouTube 12 hours before reaching the 264-hour mark.

Norme continued his stream on Twitch, where he suffered the same fate. However, at this point, even fans were concerned for his well-being as the streamer started showing signs of sleep deprivation. Still, he set out to complete his target on Rumble, which is no longer officially recognized by the Guinness World Record due to health risks.

Two hours before the record’s completion, Norme was swatted. However, the streamer managed to make his own new record on Rumble.

Did Norme break the no sleep record?

Norme stayed up for roughly 12 days, but he did not break the no-sleep record, which is for 18 days.

While Guinness doesn’t encourage or acknowledge the no-sleep records, Norme beat a previous record holder, Randy Gardner, who stayed awake for 264 hours. But his 264-hour no sleep record isn’t enough to say that Norme holds the top record. But, it’s also worth noting that most previous attemptees had medical help and supervision during the challenge.

According to Norme, he achieved the no stream record without using caffeine or any other drug, which wasn’t the case for others. After creating a new record, Norme is now doing a “longest sleep stream” to break the world record.
