New Mousesports CS:GO lineup featuring ChrisJ, Karrigan revealed

The new Mousesports Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team has been revealed.

After a number of twists and turns, the European organization announced its new roster consisting of Chris “chrisJ” de Jong, Robin “ropz” Kool, Finn “karrigan” Andersen, Özgür “woxic” Eker, and David “frozen” Čerňanský. The revelation was made on the team’s official site.

Big changes have been expected for Mousesports’ roster.

Despite having a generally solid 2018 that included several first-place finishes at tournaments, its roster struggled to remain consistent. Those issues continued into 2019 and an ill-timed stumble resulted in the team washing out of the group stages of the European Minor. That saw Mousesports fail to qualify for the 2019 Katowice Major, a turn of events that led to the organization looking to reboot its CS:GO team.

But while changes were expected, the list of names does come with some surprises.

First and foremost is the reactivation of longtime Mousesports player ChrisJ. The Dutch player has been a fixture for the team, signing with the organization in 2013 and staying put ever since. He was deactivated from the team following the Europe Minor flop and was widely expected to split after five and a half years. ChrisJ himself stoked that perception on social media when he teased joining BIG. What changed is a mystery, but he and Ropz remain with mouz.

Also returning to Mousesports is Karrigan. This is the Dane’s fourth stint with Mousesports, anchoring its Counter-Strike 1.6 team from 2010 to 2012, rejoining on its Global Offensive team after a stint with Fnatic, and popping up once more as a stand-in in 2014. He returns this time following a two-year stint with FaZe Clan and will serve as the team’s in-game leader.

Rounding out the lineup are fresh faces Woxic and Frozen. The former is likely familiar to CS:GO fans, competently filling the AWP and entry fragging roles for HellRaisers since 2017. Frozen is getting his first shot in a top-tier organization after four years as a journeyman in the European circuit.

The team has a lot on its plate as it looks to navigate through a crowded field en route to the Berlin Major in September. The first look at the new Mousesports lineup will come later this month in season seven of the Esports Championship Series.
