New $1,500 gaming chair revealed by Herman Miller and Logitech
New $1,500 gaming chair revealed by Herman Miller and Logitech
Logitech G has revealed its new luxury gaming chair collaboration with Herman Miller, a manufacturer of luxury and ergonomically engineered office chairs, and the price tag is shocking.
Back in February, Herman Miller announced the collaboration with Logitech G to “design and manufacture the next generation high-performance furniture solution for gamers.” That product was revealed as a new gaming chair that features unique cushioning, a cooling foam, spinal support, and pressure distribution.
Most gamers, however, will balk at the whopping $1,500 price tag. That’s not an unusual sum for a Herman Miller chair, but is astronomical compared to gaming chairs that typically check in at under $500. While Herman Miller has expensive chairs with ergonomic features at the forefront of their designs, the asking price is radically higher than some strong alternatives.
Alongside the chair, Logitech G and Herman Miller have also released a number of other items to go along with the chair. This includes a $1,295 gaming desk and $295 monitor arm for gamers that want to trick out their entire space with high-dollar gear.
While time will ultimately tell whether gamers are willing to pony up the cash for a premium quality product, the Logitech G and Herman Miller collaboration is going to get a marketing push in the esports scene for a spell. The reigning Overwatch League champions, the San Francisco Shock, announced their partnership with the chair company just one day after the reveal of the new gear. Alongside this was a similar announcement from top League of Legends brand Team SoloMid.
“We’re incredibly excited to announce that the state of the art TSM Performance Center will be kitted out with the new Revolutionary Embody Gaming Chair,” TSM said.
Those wishing to purchase a chair of their own or do a bit of digital window shopping can find the products on
Herman Miller’s website.
