MultiVersus Season 1 was delayed, but it may be worth the extra wait. The developer has announced new skins and an exciting Arcade mode.
The year’s wackiest crossover brawler, MultiVersus, will bring iconic heroes from different franchises into one place for the first time. Batman, Bugs Bunny, Harley Quinn, Rick and Morty, and more will battle in duos to be the best. MultiVersus testing waves have been smashing successes so far as players eagerly await the official release. Apart from new characters Rick and Morty, more exciting content is cooking.
Recently, the developer pushed the release date forward, which was a bummer for excited players. But the wait may be worth it. An Arcade and Ranked mode have been announced for MultiVersus Season 1.
The official date of MultiVersus is still unknown, but players now know what to expect from the full release. New icons, banners, and variants will be added to the game upon its official release. But players are most excited about the new game modes teased in the poster. Ranked and Arcade modes in MultiVersus will take the game’s difficulty up a notch.
Ranked will be the official game mode that might decide player skill level with rank badges. It’s uncertain how it’ll differ from the casual queue, but it may have a character pick and ban system. To even the playing field, the new mode may bring a system to reduce the chances of having duplicate agents within one game.
Arcade mode will be perfect for those looking to grind MultiVersus for long hours without worrying about the ranked ladder. Data miners have teased a “rivalry gimmick” for this mode, including three difficulty levels.
The Arcade game mode will have easy, medium, and hard levels that players can adjust to their preference. Stage progress suggests that there’ll be around ten levels that players must climb in order to win the Arcade mode. A data-mined file also indicated that this particular mode would have a rivalry gimmick between characters, adding more potential depth to the game.
MultiVersus introduces team-based 2v2 formats with a strong emphasis on online cooperative gameplay. The game also offers game modes that include 1v1 matches, 4-player free-for-all, co-op vs. A.I. matches, custom online lobbies, The Lab (practice mode), tutorials, and local play matches supporting up to four competitors.
