Warner Bros.’ has glad tidings for players enjoying the MultiVersus early access open beta . Lebron James is next in line to join The Iron Giant in the fierce character lineup.
Warner Bros. is plucking iconic characters from its popular franchises to create the year’s wackiest brawler, MultiVersus. So far, the developer has added sixteen characters, including the recent addition of the Iron Giant. New playable icons will continue to land in the MultiVersus lineup as the official release date draws closer.
The game is currently in testing, and a new character has already joined the likes of Batman, Harley Quinn, Steven Universe, and more. Lebron James is making his way to the multiverse, along with his basketball.
The popular basketball player is the latest addition to the fierce MultiVersus character roster. King James will add to the game’s bruiser category, heroes responsible for battering their opponents with physical capabilities.
Here are Lebron James’ abilities in MultiVersus:
Buckets: Aim or throw his basketball, then summons another.
Work The Floor: Sweeps a basketball around his ankle, hitting multiple targets.
Denied: Slam the basketball down or create a fence that blocks projectiles.
As players had expected, the basketball is at the center of Lebron’s kit. Still, his move set doesn’t sound as mind-blowing as other characters’ kits on paper. Compared with fellow bruisers like Batman, Shaggy, and Taz, Lebron seems a bit underwhelming. However, seeing how he plays out in the two-versus-two arena will be interesting. His basketball abilities may help tenderize enemies through complex tricks.
Lebron James will become playable on 26th July, when MultiVersus open beta goes live for all. Rick and Morty have also been announced as upcoming characters, but not much is known about their move set just yet.
Bruisers are as deadly as Assassins, if not more. Characters in this class have all the no-nonsense abilities required to end enemies quickly. Here are all the bruisers in MultiVersus.
