Sometimes the streaming community is shocked by the amount of money content creators make, but at least Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo and Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson have decided to use some of that cash towards a charitable cause.
Mizkif wound up donating $20,000 to charity after losing a bet to MrBeast on January 25, making him the latest victim of MrBeast’s betting streams. Ludwig lost $25,000 during a poker game with MrBeast last year, and now Mizkif lost $20,000 after losing a League of Legends match. Maybe streamers should stop accepting challenges from MrBeast, unless they don’t really mind losing money to the noted content creator and philanthropist.
Mizkif and MrBeast were playing League of Legends on stream when they decided to take part in a 1v1 battle. Mizkif asked MrBeast if he wanted to put money on it. MrBeast responded that they should put $10,000 on it, causing Mizkif to burst out laughing.
“I hate when you do this. Hanging out with you is the worst,” Mizkif exclaimed.
The 1v1 League of Legends match ended up being a best two out of three contest. MrBeast seemed quite calm about the situation, but Mizkif told fans that he was nervous, begging them to shout out champions to use.
Mizkif won the first contest, giving his fans hope. But he ultimately ended up losing the next two 1v1 battles. Mizkif told MrBeast he would fork over $10,000, but MrBeast wasn’t done quite yet. He asked if Mizkif wanted to go “double or nothing.”
“We queue up for a random match and if we win, you owe me nothing. But if we lose, you owe me $20K. And you can just donate it to charity,” MrBeast proposed.
This was an offer that Mizkif couldn’t refuse. But he also couldn’t come out on top. The match didn’t go well for the two streamers, meaning Mizkif had to give $20,000 to charity.
Mizkif decided to choose Alveus Sanctuary. This is a bird sanctuary owned by Maya Higa, Mizkif’s ex-girlfriend. This is a non-profit charity that is focused on education and conservation.
This had many fans curious about the current state of Mizkif’s relationship with Maya Higa. The two broke up in September of 2021 after dating for two years. It was seemingly a difficult time for the two content creators. Mizkif took a break from streaming around that same time.
In a TwitLonger, Mizkif ensured fans that nothing dramatic had happened to lead to a breakup. He said he would continue to support Higa as a friend. But nobody probably expected this kind of major support, with $20,000 going to Higa’s passion for wildlife conservation and birds.
