Popular mythical Pokémon Mew and Jirachi are set to make their return to Pokémon video games in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
With the launch of Pokémon BDSP just around the corner, Nintendo is pulling back the curtain on some of the new features that will be available in the games. This includes some new post-game content in Ramanas Park, which will be available to players after they defeat the Elite Four and become Pokémon League champions.
While the reveal of Ramanas Park is interesting, also revealed was the fact that players will have access to two mythical Pokémon in Pokémon BDSP, with Mew and Jirachi both being made available to players.

Nintendo confirmed that Mew and Jirachi will be available to players in Pokémon BDSP. Players on both Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will be able to get the two mythical Pokémon, but there is a catch.
Mew and Jirachi can be gifted to the player by two NPCs in Floaroma Town, if there are saves from other Pokémon titles on the player’s Nintendo Switch profile.
The two NPCs, an older man and woman, can be found standing in a flowerbed in the western part of Floaroma Town. If the player has a save from either Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu or Eevee, they can receive a Mew from the elderly man. If they have saves from Pokémon Sword or Shield, they can obtain Jirachi from the woman.
The Jirachi giveaway is the first time since 2018 that Jirachi will be made available to players, and the first time since 2016 that Jirachi will be available to fans outside Japan. Jirachi was last available at Pokémon Center stores in Japan for the Tanabata festival in 2017 and 2018. It was last available in 2016 in Europe and North America to celebrate the Pokémon franchise’s 20th anniversary.
Mew was made available much more recently. Players that purchased the Poké Ball Plus accessory for their Switch were able to obtain the Pokémon by using it with Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu or Eevee, or with Pokémon Sword or Shield.
Those who purchase Pokémon BDSP shortly after its launch will have access to another mythical Pokémon, Manaphy. Manaphy can then be bred with a Ditto to obtain yet another mythical Pokémon, Phione. All of this means that Pokémon players will have access to a lot of special Pokémon in short order.
