Marvel Rivals went offline temporarily on August 5 to prepare for the next wave of testing, but now players are eager to know when exactly Marvel Rivals open beta starts.

NetEase’s hero shooter enjoyed a crowded closed beta from July 20 to August 5. During this time, players got access by directly applying for it or getting CBT key drops on Twitch and YouTube. Unfortunately, though, not everyone got early access to the game, which briefly resulted in player backlash.

Now that the closed beta has ended, players are curious when they’ll be able to jump into the hero universe.

When is Marvel Rivals open beta?

NetEase hasn’t announced an official date for the Marvel Rivals open beta, but based on our educated guess, it may fall between October 15 and 30.

Marvel Rivals closed alpha was the most exclusive testing phase, followed by a slightly more welcoming closed beta. Both had a gap of two months between them. Since the closed beta ended on August 5, Marvel Rivals’ open beta may likely follow the same pattern and be released sometime in October.

This aligns with a recent announcement on the official Marvel Rivals handle, which revealed that the game will be at GamesCom from August 21-25. It’s possible that the developer may announce the open beta or even the game release date at the event.

If that happens to be true, players shouldn’t have to wait too long to don the Iron Man suit and jump onto the hero’s battlefield. The game’s official release date is also unknown, but if the open beta follows the two-month pattern, then the global release shouldn’t be far either.

Still, these are all speculations and should be taken with a pinch of salt. More details about the game will be revealed at the GamesCom.
