Major Overwatch League trades and signings in leaked video

There have been a lot of interesting trades and roster changes leading up to the 2020 Overwatch League Season, but a leaked video has revealed possibly even more shocking trades and signings on the horizon.

A video of OWL analyst Josh “Sideshow” Wilkinson speaking with players Scott “Custa” Kennedy, and Alberto “neptuNo” Gonzalez has made its rounds online. Seemingly unaware that they are being recorded, the three discuss some major leaks in the Overwatch League that have yet to be confirmed officially by any players or teams.

A source close to WIN.gg has informed us that these major moves are indeed actually happening, but nothing can be known for sure until the teams announce it themselves.

Major roster changes coming to the Overwatch League 2020

Dallas Fuel roster change-up

According to the leaked video, the Texas team is interested in trading Won-sik “Closer” Jung for Los Angeles Valiant’s Custa, but the Valiant turned down the offer since Closer was too expensive to acquire.

The Dallas Fuel are also rumored to have signed Young-jin “Gamsu” Noh from the Shanghai Dragons. While there are no sources that have been able to confirm an exact figure, the video mentions that Gamsu’s salary with the Fuel will be $240,000.

Los Angeles Gladiators making big moves

If the information leaked in the video is proven correct, the Los Angeles Gladiators will be seeing some big roster changes leading up to Season 3. This includes acquiring Min-Seok “OGE” Son from the Fuel, and also signing Indy “SPACE” Halpern from the Valiant for an impressive chunk of change.

Los Angeles Valiant are cutting back

As mentioned in their turned down trade with Dallas Fuel, the Los Angeles-based team don’t seem keen on spending a lot in the 2020 season. This might also be why they were willing to trade SPACE when they saw the amount they were being offered by their LA rivals.

According to the video, the Valiant want to create a “lower budget” team for the global games. No player will have a salary above $60,000. This wouldn’t be too shocking after their disappointing showing in Season 2, including a loss to the Gladiators at their own Homestand Weekend. Shortly after the second season ended, the Valiant announced open tryouts

Toronto Defiant pick up a lot of big name players

Seemingly taking advantage of the Valiant’s new finance goals, the Defiant will sign Brady “Agilities” Girardi and Young-Seo “Kariv” Park from the downgrading Valiant team, if the video is to be believed.

The Defiant have also picked up Lane “Surefour” Roberts after it was shockingly revealed that the DPS star would be leaving the Los Angeles Gladiators. The three OWL personalities in the video agreed this was the only way the Canadian organization could be saved.

The video also mentioned that the Toronto Defiant were not interested in trialing neptuNo because they felt he might be too toxic. Right at the moment where neptuNo revealed this private information, Sideshow turned around quickly towards his computer set up, seeming to know something was up.

“Please don’t tell me you’re streaming,” neptuNo said.

When the players find out that it’s been recording the whole time, they weren’t too happy. The video cuts just as the players start yelling out more profanities. It’s unclear how Sideshow ended up recording a few minutes early by accident, although some have shared rumors that he was inhebriated. This has yet to be proven.
