After switching from Twitch to YouTube and maintaining his superstar stream status, Ludwig Ahgren is once again returning to where it all began.
Ludwig’s contract with YouTube is ending on November 30, 2024, and the streaming star has already revealed his plans for future platforms. The former Super Smash Bros Melee commentator will be returning to Twitch, but the transition won’t be as simple as fans expect. He has already explained his plans along with a timeline for when it will begin.
Here’s a breakdown of his plan to stream on Twitch and when fans can expect to see Ludwig go live.
Ludwig’s first stream back on Twitch will most likely be on December 1, 2024, around 4 pm CT.
This prediction is based on his regular stream schedule on YouTube. He tends to take Saturdays off but streams every other day of the week. The exact time of his streams varies wildly, but he’s generally on in the afternoon or evening. Ludwig himself has not confirmed his first stream time. Expect an official announcement before he returns to his old channel.
Ahgren first switched to YouTube in November 2021, signing a three-year exclusive contract with the platform. However, Ludwig has still appeared on some Twitch streams, most recently for an appearance on Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 2 subathon. He is not banned from the platform. Ludwig simply left to fulfill his contractual obligations with YouTube.
Now that his exclusivity deal is coming to an end, he has stated that Twitch offers certain advantages over YouTube. This includes a limitless maximum stream time. However, Ludwig still plans to use his YouTube channel, alternating between the two platforms moving forward. He has confirmed if he plans to multistream.
Ludwig plans to take advantage of the looser guidelines on Twitch as part of a marathon League of Legends stream. The currently platinum-ranked player plans to shoot past his current Elo ranking over the course of 100 hours of ranked play. This marathon stream will most likely be Ludwig’s first major event back on Twitch, but a more normal stream will likely come first.
