LoL patch 9.15 takes shape with many buffs and a few nerfs
League of Legends is getting new updates with Patch 9.15, set to go live on July 31. Mark Yetter, the game’s lead gameplay designer, has shared what the
current plans
are for this upcoming patch.
The patch will bring a lot of balance changes. Evelynn, Rumble, Qiyana, and Karma will be getting nerfed. On the other hand, many champions will be receiving buffs. These include Lissandra, Malphite, Poppy, Graves, Lee Sin, Kha’Zix, Galio, Swain, Leblanc, Syndra, Xerath, Lucian, Soraka, and Vayne.
Evelynn’s nerf is related to her jungle gameplay, as her Q cooldown refund against monsters is getting decreased to 50%. Rumble’s W shield and Karma’s bonus shield will be made weaker. Qiyana’s ultimate cooldown will now be 120 seconds long, and opposing players will be able to flash away from her E.
Lee Sin, Kha’Zix, and Soraka will be getting increased damage to their Q skills, Malphite’s Q will have a longer slow duration with higher first hit bonus damage, while Swain’s Q will be made effective at a longer range.
Lissandra is getting an increase in both health and health per level. Poppy will have a higher W movement speed while the ability is active. Graves’ quickdraw armor is getting buffed, and Vayne will have 150% increased damage for the Condemn abilities that stun her opponents against a wall, up from the current 100%.
Currently flat, Galio’s passive will be buffed to be affected by cooldown reduction and will deal higher damage. His E skill’s damage is also getting an increase. Leblanc’s E, Lucian’s Culling damage, and Syndra’s Force of Will bonus damage will all be made higher.
Xerath’s ultimate range is getting a broad change. Instead of ranging from 3,200 to 5,600 depending on the rank, the range will now be a flat 5,000 at all ranks.
Riot Games’ developers are looking to make gameplay more balanced with these changes as the team prepares for the upcoming World Championship. Mark Yetter has added that players can expect some of these decisions to change before the patch has been finalized, as they’re looking to keep the risk to game disruption low.
