A new chapter has begun for Leviatán Esports with the signing of Max “Demon1” Mazanov, the 2023 Valorant Champions winner. The 22-year-old American, who previously played for Evil Geniuses and NRG Esports, now joins the powerhouse roster of Leviatán. This move is essential for the team as they gear up for the VCT 2025 season. His addition marks a major shift for the Argentinian squad, which aims to further strengthen its championship ambitions.

Demon1 road to redemption on Leviatán

The signing of Demon1 to Leviatán comes after a rocky season with NRG Esports in 2024. This follows a highly anticipated transfer from Evil Geniuses, where he achieved significant success, Demon1’s time with NRG was less fruitful. The team failed to live up to expectations. Additionally, NRG missed playoffs in the VCT Americas Stage One and made an early exit from the Kickoff event. These setbacks led to Demon1 being benched for most of the season, spending time streaming while waiting for another chance to shine.

Now, with his return to the server secured, Demon1 is looking for redemption and a chance to prove himself again. He reunites with former Evil Geniuses teammate Corbin “C0M” Lee, with whom he shared the 2023 Valorant Champions title. Furthermore, he joins a Leviatán squad that already boasts major talent, including Erick “aspas” Santos.

Leviatán’s rising expectations

Demon1 with Leviatán stars aspas and c0m

Leviatán’s 2024 season was one of growth and progress. Despite struggling in the early stages, the team managed to turn things around, winning VCT Americas Stage 2. Leviatán was consistently placing among the top three teams at Valorant Champions 2024. With Demon1 now in the lineup, Leviatán’s roster is shaping up to be one of the most formidable in the upcoming 2025 season.

As it stands, Leviatán’s roster is as folows:

With three world champions in the squad, Demon1, C0M, and aspas, the blue roster is expected to be a serious contender in the VCT 2025 circuit.

What lies ahead for Leviatán and Demon1?

While Demon1’s individual skill is undeniable, his previous experience with NRG Esports serves as a reminder that even super rosters can falter under pressure. Leviatán will need to ensure that team synergy and strategic cohesion are maintained if they are to meet, or even surpass, the high expectations that come with these big signings.

All eyes will be on Leviatán and Demon1 as the VCT 2025 season approaches, with fans eagerly waiting to see whether this new, stacked roster can achieve the ultimate goal of bringing another championship title home.
