LEC teams returning to Berlin studio for week 5 play
The LEC is slowly getting back to normal as LEC teams will return to live play from the studio starting in week five.
The news was revealed by the LEC, who stated that the upcoming week 5 of the 2022 spring split will “welcome back teams competing in games 1 and 5 to the LEC main stage.”
As with other splits since 2020, the 2022 LEC Spring Split has been played online. This will finally start to change as the LEC is slowly but surely reopening the studio for more than just the broadcast. Not all games will come from the studio quite yet, but it will still be a significant occasion.
If or when the studio will be fully opened for all teams is still unknown. According to the announcement by the LEC, this is the first step towards opening up for live play. Depending on the situation for players and teams, it seems like the goal is to open up further.
Which 2022 LEC Spring Split week five games are in the LEC studio?
Misfits vs. Team BDS will open the week in-studio, which will be followed later on by MAD Lions vs. G2 Esports closing the day. The next day will see Team BDS vs. Excel Esports followed by Team Vitality vs. Fnatic.
The first and last game will be played from the Berlin studio this weekend, with Misfits Gaming and Team BDS opening this week’s games. As the new team in the league, this will be the first time that Team BDS. Some of the BDS players have already experienced on-stage play, but a part of the young squad will also be pushed into a brand new environment.
The first day will conclude with two experienced organizations facing off, as MAD Lions and G2 Esports will close out the day from the studio. Even though the organizations are used to playing live from the studio, there will be a total of four players who are yet to experience the vibe from the Berlin studio.
On the second day of the week, Team BDS will be back in the studio when it faces off against Excel. The last studio match of the week will be none other than Team Vitality against Fnatic, which currently seems like the matchup of the week to look out for.
