Riot Games has announced Greece as the new destination for the LEC Summer Split finals, with Lion Cereals as the presenting partner.

For the first time in history, Athens is hosting the most important European League of Legends event of the summer. On September 7, two teams will compete for a spot in the final match, which will be played out on September 8.

“We are very excited to bring the LEC Summer Finals to Athens for the first time. Greece has some of the most passionate players in the world, and we’ve been looking forward to the day we could bring an event to them,” said Seth Pyrzynski, live production manager at Riot Games.

So far in the summer split, G2 Esports and Fnatic are looking to be the strongest contenders for the title as both teams remain unbeaten. Origin has also looked strong following its runner-up finish in the previous split.

In the spring, these three teams traveled to Rotterdam, Netherlands to compete for the LEC title and the pass to the Mid-Season Invitational. G2 came out victorious at the time and went on to win it all at MSI. The squad is now looking to gear up for a potential run at the World Championship later this year.

The LEC is partnering up with Lion Cereals in bringing the event to Greece. Lion Cereals previously worked with Riot Games during the 2017 Spring Split.

“We can’t wait to bring the LEC to Greece and put on our greatest show yet to end our inaugural season with a bang,” Pyrzynski said.

In 2018, Riot Games hinted they would be taking the LEC events to more cities across Europe. So far, the LEC roadshow has visited two cities and the number is going up later in the year.

The international competitive season will come to a close with the World Championship being held in Europe. Paris was announced as the destination for the final series.

T1 exposes Karmine Corp with 3-0 win at League of Legends MSI 2026 Wasif Ahmed T1 just beat Karmine Corp 3-0 in the play-in stage of the 2026 Mid-Season Invitational. More importantly, T1 turned KC’s strengths into weaknesses. The bot lane and teamfight prowess that shone in the LEC were no match this time. The match started with Karmine Corp picking a disrespectful draft, blind picking three immobile squishies. Right off the bat, a botched invade put their jungle and bot lane at a disadvantage. ...
