League of Legends has officially removed the division promotions in Season 11.

The new ranked season started on January 8 and it brought a major change to the game. Starting in Season 11, the promo series between divisions are removed from the game. Players now will advance from one division to the next once they earn 100 LP. The promotions between tiers will remain in place for the foreseeable future.

This change is taking away one of the most frustrating experiences in the game. Now the climb in ranked will be smoother, especially since Season 11 will see players already starting closer to their final rank from the previous season.

League of Legends ranked rewards

Riot Games is kicking off League of Legends Season 11 with a special mission. After playing one game of ranked on the Summoner’s Rift or three games in any other game mode, players will earn rewards. This mission grants a Season 11 Icon, an emote, an eternals capsule, and two champion shards. The mission is available until January 18.

The LoL Esports watch missions have returned. Players can go to the LoL Esports website and watch any game from a professional league to complete the missions. This includes the LCS, LEC, LPL, LCK, and more. In order to earn these watch rewards, players must log in with their Riot accounts and watch at least 10 minutes from each game. The watch missions have multiple milestones and rewards to be collected along the way.

Is LoL Season 10 over?

League of Legends Season 10 finished on November 10, 2020. The new season, Season 11, began on January 8, 2021.

How long does a League of Legends season last?

The League of Legends season lasts ten months, starting in mid-January and ending in November. During the offseason, players can still play ranked games, any rank achieved in the offseason won’t count towards ranked rewards and ranks will be reset with the new season.

Is League of Legends free?

League of Legends is a free-to-play game. Players can unlock new champions and earn rewards through in-game events and by achieving certain milestones such as reaching a new level on their account. New champions and skins can also be purchased with real-world money after it is exchanged for Riot Points.
