League of Legends champion roadmap has new marksman and juggernaut
Riot Games is back with the
new champion roadmap, sharing that a new marksman and juggernaut are in development while Senna is preparing for relase and Fiddlesticks and Volibear’s reworks are being finalized.
Senna has already been announced
during the 10th-anniversary edition of Riot Pls.
Riot’s lead producer of champions Ryan “Reav3” Mireles
now shared that her unique playstyle comes from the fact she had to be a marksman due to her lore, but still needed to be played with Lucian on the lane. With Senna coming to the Summoner Rift, Lucian is getting a few new voice lines too.
League will be getting new marksman and juggernaut champions
The champion roadmap teased a new marksman, describing it as the protector of faith “from those who stand in the sun,” likely hinting at the Solari, an ancient religious order which Leona notably belongs to. The new marksman might also be a part of the Lunari, Diane and Zoe’s affiliated order.
It seems from the roadmap that it won’t be an easy champion to master, but will instead cater more towards players that are up for a challenge.
Another champion coming to League soon is a new juggernaut from the Ionian undergrounds. The juggernaut will be an aggressive type of champion for those who like to get in the middle of a battle, and will likely have a simpler play style.
“If you like letting your fists do the talking, getting into the had of a pit fight, and smashing your opponents’ heads together, this may be just the champion for you,” Riot shared.
Reworks for Fiddlesticks and Volibear are being finalized
Riot announced
Fiddlesticks and Volibear will be receiving visual and gameplay updates
earlier this year. Since then, the developer has been using players’ feedback to create their new designs.
Once reworked, Fiddlesticks should be more terrifying than ever, with new voice lines and a new kit that will bring his fear to a higher level than before. There are no specific details on the kit except that fear will be staying as a point-and-click status effect, with Riot only saying playing against Fiddlesticks will be a horror-inducing experience.
The direction of Volibear’s gameplay has been decided on as well. While staying the same at its core, the reworked Volibear will have new and unique features that fit his role as a thunderous demigod, with his narrative history getting changed to fit better Volibear’s new design as well.
The champion roadmap also hinted at a new jungler and melee solo laner, but those are in earlier stages of development.
