LCS tickets for sale, fans unhappy with Spring Pass pricing

The tickets for the 2020 LCS Spring season are up for sale now.

After releasing the full schedule for the 2020 LCS Spring, Riot Games is officially selling the tickets for next season. The LCS was by some metrics the third most popular major professional sports league in the United States in 2019 and is expecting to attract even more fans in 2020.

Tickets are available online, and the price range goes from $24 to $36 for general admission tickets. These tickets are valid for one day only. The LCS is also offering a season pass that sells for $950 and includes tickets for all 18 weeks of the regular season and six days of playoffs.

The Spring Split Pass, which was introduced in 2019, includes premium seats in the front road, a shirt, photo opportunities with the talent, and a customized mousepad. Fans that purchase the Spring Split pass will get early sale access to the LCS Spring finals tickets. The event is taking place on April 19 and the location is yet to be announced.

The LCS introduced a new reward program for the loyal fans that attend the LCS studio several times per season. When they first attend an LCS game, the fans will get a card that they can punch every time they visit the LCS.

The LCS changes format

Earlier this week, the LCS announced a change in its format and introduced the Monday League Night event that will regularly feature two LCS matches. The regular season days, Saturday and Sunday, will feature four LCS matches and one LCS Academy League match.

Monday League Night is taking place in the LCS studio, but the tickets are not available for sale. The league has yet to explain the logistics for the Monday League Night. On the first Monday of the 2020 LCS Spring, the marquee LCS matchup is Team Liquid versus Team SoloMid, two of the most popular organizations in the world. Not having an audience present for the clash wouldn’t make a lot of sense.

The Spring Split Pass creates debate among fans

Fans on Reddit were quick to share their reactions to the pricing of the LCS Spring Split Pass and question if it was actually worth it. One of the activities that attract the fans, other than the matches, is the tailgating program, and it’s not guaranteed. In the past, some of the organizations have chosen not to take part in the activities and the fans have noticed.

The community is not happy with the pricing. If a fan decides to attend all 18 days of the regular season plus six days of playoffs and buys a $36 ticket each day, they would spend $864. That is still $86 cheaper than the pass. Still, some other fans argued that the additional rewards are worth the increased price.

The LCS is the most expensive out of the four major regions. LEC general admission tickets sell for €11.90, roughly $13. LPL general tickets sell for roughly $35 but also include gift bags from the teams. In 2019, the LCK sold the tickets for $11 for one series and $17 for a package that included both series of the day.
