The schedule for the LCK’s 2022 spring split has been released, with a full itinerary of matches already scheduled.

The first matches will take place on January 1st, 2022 with both DragonX and T1 playing on that first day. From there, the schedule remains relatively normal throughout 2022 and will be familiar to long-time LCK fans.

LCK schedule for 2022

During regular play the LCK will run from Wednesdays to Sundays of any given week, with Monday and Tuesday being its days off. For fans looking to catch Worlds finalist Damwon KIA, their first game will be taking place on January 13 at 20:00 KST.

The spring split will continue all the way through to March 20, where the final game will mirror the first with DragonX facing down T1 to wrap up the standings for regular play before teams are seeded into playoffs ahead of the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational.

Korea’s schedule is weighted more heavily towards play on weekdays, as it was very common for the audience to make their way to the iconic LoL Park after finishing school or a shift of work. This schedule has been maintained but it’s unclear how the LCK will handle in-person crowds given current health and safety concerns.

Will Damwon KIA win LCK again?

Despite a disappointing loss to Top Esports in the 2021 Worlds finals, Damwon KIA still has to defend its title as the reigning champions of LCK. Damwon’s roster has undergone changes since Worlds, but they are looking to be a strong contender for the title once more.

Noh “Burdol” Tae-yoon will be their top laner, Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu, Heo “ShowMaker” Su continues his journey towards one of the greatest mid laners of all time, Seo “deokdam” Dae-gil and Kim “Kellin” Hyeong-gyu round out the bot lane. Given the loss of Kim “Khan” Dong-ha to his mandatory military service, Jang “Ghost” Yong-jun to Nongshim RedForce, and Cho “BeryL” Geon-hee to DragonX, much of the recognizable members have left Damwon KIA.

It will be an uphill battle for the reigning champion, but without seeing much of the other teams just yet they seem like a frontrunner for the spring split trophy.
