Kyedae opens up about her cancer, says she “feels sick”
Valorant streamer Kyedae has opened up about her cancer diagnosis in her first stream since announcing the heartbreaking news last Friday.
On Friday, the gaming community was hit with an unfortunate health update from popular Valorant streamer Kyedae. She revealed that she had been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, cancer affecting the blood and bone marrow. Following her announcement, fans have expressed concerns about her health, but Kyedae has since provided more information about her situation.
While she looks fine physically, Kyedae said she already “feels sick.” She further revealed that her streams might become irregular due to chemotherapy.
Kyedae already feels sick after cancer diagnoses
Many know Kyedae as Tyson “Tenz” Ngo’s partner, but her fans have been following her streams way before she became a notable member of 100 Thieves. With her cracked aim in Valorant and likable personality, Kyedae has garnered a massive fanbase of her own.
Her community was concerned about her health and had many questions that Kyedae tackled in the recent March 6 Twitch stream.
The streamer revealed that she might be unable to create content regularly due to chemotherapy and its potential effects. She said she had already felt sick for quite some time.
“I already feel quite sick. I’m trying, like, my best to put on a normal face in front. But I’ve been dealing with a lot of, like, health complications recently. Actually, for a little while now.” Kyedae said.
She also revealed that her close friends and family didn’t find out about her cancer right away. Instead, she told them only recently. To ensure that her fiance and top Valorant pro player TenZ is wholly focused on VCT LOCK//IN, Kyedae kept the news from him until the tournament was over. She also encouraged her fans to send love to TenZ.
Kyedea seemed fine from the outside but shared that she’s putting a “normal face in front.” There’ll be many health challenges due to chemotherapy, but mentally, Kyedae is using humor to cope with the situation.
“If I get sad and I’m just like, ‘Oh, I have cancer.’ ‘Oh this.’ Oh that.’ Like, it’s not going to go, ‘Poof! Go away.’ You know what I mean? It’s just like, my way of coping. Like, I’m sure, like, my community knows this. I’m always joking, constantly,” Kyedae said.
Fans are still concerned about her health, but a little life update has been reassuring. It’s unknown if she’ll stream anytime soon, but her community wishes her the best.
