Kjaerbye reunites with former North players for new CSGO roster
Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye is all set for his return to competitive Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with a full-fledged Danish roster.
As
reported by 1pv.fr, five Danes once scattered across different team benches are reuniting to form a fresh CSGO roster. The lineup will feature kjaerby, Nicklas “gade” Gade, Philip “aizy” Aistrup, Johannes “b0RUP” Borup, Frederik “Fessor” Sørense.

“Since North ceased operations I had been talking back and forth with kjaerbye and aizy. Talking about how we wanted to reunite and build a new team. Right now, it’s about developing and performing so that we can have a breakthrough into the scene,” gade told 1pvfr.
The five players are reuniting under one umbrella after being benched in their respective teams. Aizy and gade are both currently inactive members of North, an organization that dissolved most of its esports
division in February. The shut down left many skilled CSGO players as free agents in the market with a blurred future in esports. Aizy and gade were quick to team up and rekindle the North roster featuring Kjaerby, freshly moved to the bench in FaZe.
The three players developed a synergy during their time in North back in 2019. The trio won GG.Bet Ice Challenge and the Dreamhack Open Sevilla, bringing North to the fore of CSGO. Kjaerby quit the squad in 2018 and moved to the star-studded roster of FaZe Clan. However, his journey was short-lived as the organization dropped him to make space for Team Liquid’s superstar Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken. Kjaerby’s dismissal completes North’s former trio, now teamed up with b0rup and fessor.
Heroic recently cut Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen and b0rup from the active roster following subpar performances across different tournaments. While niko found a home in OG, b0rup continues to warm the bench. The four players are joined by Fessor, who’s currently a member of the European team BLUEJAYS.
New Danish roster featuring Kjaerby is in the making
While team member gade has confirmed the roster reports, the players still have various impediments to deal with. b0rup, kjaerby, and fessor are all under contract with their teams. The roster needs to be acquired by an organization to officialize a CSGO lineup.
With most organizations pulling out of CSGO amid the Valorant wave and tons of players stagnant in the market, finding a home will certainly be a tall order for the newly minted Danish quintet.
The new Danish roster is:
- Nicklas “gade” Gade
- Philip “aizy” Aistrup
- Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye
- Johannes “b0RUP” Borup
- Frederik “Fessor” Sørense
