Jensen leads Liquid over former Cloud9 teammates
Team Liquid’s win over Cloud9 in the first game of the 2019 LCS season was a bit more personal this time around.

Jensen showed no signs of holding back against his old teammates. His loyalty to Liquid was made clear at the start of the match as he chased down and killed his replacement at Cloud9,
Yasin “Nisqy” Dincer.
Jensen and the rest of his team emerged victorious in team fights across the map as the crowd broke out in chants of “Let’s Go Liquid.” Liquid soon took the baron from Jensen’s old squad at just 24 minutes, leading to multiple towers and C9’s bottom inhibitor.
After just 36 minutes, Liquid had stormed through Cloud9’s defenses and torn down the nexus.
While Cloud9’s loss definitely fueled flashbacks of last year’s devastating defeat to Liquid at the NA LCS Championship finals, it must have stung even more when the defeat was handed to them by a former teammate.
Jensen admitted after the victory that defeating his former team had been weighing on his mind leading up to the match.
“I would have been really sad if I lost to Cloud9, and a lot of people would have wanted my head,” Jensen said.
But during the game itself, Jensen felt the pressure lift off his shoulders as Liquid’s veteran roster showed their synergy.
“There’s definitely pressure, but it doesn’t affect me. I made this change because I want to win,” Jensen said.
Now that Team Liquid has beaten their toughest rivals on day one, Jensen and his new team should be feeling confident moving forward in the year’s first split.
