Wuthering Waves has quickly become popular for its animated visuals and addicting gameplay. But can you play it on Steam Deck?

Wuthering Waves might have only come out in May of this year, but it’s already become one of the most popular free-to-play games. The action role-playing title has been a big hit for Kuro Games, and fans are scrambling to get their hands on it.

While we already know that it is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Android, iOS, GeForce Now, Microsoft Windows, and Mac operating systems, some players may wonder if Wuther Waves is on Steam Deck.

The good news is that it is. With the recent 1.1 update, you can install and play Wuthering Waves on Steam Deck.

How to install and play Wuthering Waves on Steam Deck

To do this, you’ll have to launch the SteamOS or another Linux-based OS, download the game’s software, and then play.

Note that you’ll have to switch to desktop mode and use a physical mouse and keyboard to do so. Once you open the OS, launch Steam, tap the ‘Add a game’ button and select ‘Add a non-Steam game’.

You’ll then have to open the official Wuthering Waves website on your browser and tap on the Windows tile. Automatically, the WutheringWaves.exe file will be downloaded. Once the download is complete, return to Steam and select the file. Accept the terms of service and click on the ‘install’ button.

Completing the installation doesn’t mean that the process has ended. Now, you’ll need to open Steam and select Add a non-Steam game once again. Navigate to the file manager and search for the phrase  “Wuthering Waves.” Once you find it, click on the launcher.exe file and paste the location on the Steam browser.

Then, click on ‘Add Selected Programs’, find the Wuthering Waves game and tap Play. You might be prompted to download the install Microsoft C++ Redistributable for Unreal Engine 4. If you do, click ‘accept’.

At this point, you should be able to log into your Wuthering Waves account and begin playing.
