Baldur’s Gate 3 is considered one of the best games of the year, but console players have been missing out on the Dungeons & Dragons action. But that may change soon as Xbox is still coming.
Developer Larian has confirmed that an Xbox launch is planned for this year despite some concern as the end of the year approaches. Here’s what we know about Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox so far.
Head of publishing Michael Douse has just confirmed that Baldur’s Gate 3’s Xbox launch is still planned for 2023.
According to Douse, the release window hasn’t changed despite some worrying it may be coming in 2024 instead. He even said those accounts talking about a delay are “talking s—.”
Larian still hasn’t confirmed if Baldur’s Gate 3 is coming in November or December, however.
“Before the end of the year is the plan,” Douse said on Twitter.
Right now, Baldur’s Gate 3 is available on PC and PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, gamers have not been able to play together if they aren’t on the same system. There is no crossplay between PC and PlayStation 5.
Is crossplay in the works?
Developers have confirmed that crossplay is coming. This will become a focus after the Xbox version is launched.
Said Douse: “It’s in the roadmap, and though we have an idea of when we’d like to get it ready for, we don’t want to put a date on it until we’re sure.”
Meanwhile, there is cross-save at least, meaning you can save your progress if you switch between your PC and console.
