Arcane Season 2 trailer

Arcane fans have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Season 2 after the shocking cliff hanger at the end of Season 1. Now, Netflix has shared a teaser for Season 2 but announced that it will be the end of the popular show.

A show ending after just two seasons seems shocking. A lot of fans are wondering if Season 2 is truly the end of Arcane. Will we get a conclusion to the story that soon?

“Arcane is just the beginning of our larger storytelling journey and partnership with the wonderful animation studio that is Fortiche,” said Christian Linke during a League Dev Update. “From the very beginning, since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind, which means the story of Arcane wraps up with this second season. But Arcane is just the first of many stories that we want to tell in Runeterra.”

Many believe that the ending of Season 2 will be very emotional. In the trailer, you can hear Vi call for Jinx, who then says: “You finally got the name right, sister.” This exchange means that Vi has finally acknowledged her sister as Jinx instead of Powder, a very impactful moment that may spell tragedy. Some even believe that Jinx will die at the end of Season 2.

While it definitely is unfortunate that such a fun and exciting series is coming to an end, many have commended the creators for ending in Season 2 instead of forcing writers to drag out the story. It will be interesting to see what they come up with next, with devs hinting that more stories from Runeterra will get similar treatment next.

Arcane Season 2 is coming exclusively to Netflix in November 2024.
