Invictus Gaming vs. Team Aster OGA Season 6 China betting picks

With the Dota Pro Circuit’s regional finals now done, third-party events are filling the gap. The best one going on at the moment is OGA Dota PIT Season 6, which is hosting matches between big names from the region including Team Aster and Invictus Gaming.

The event has been bringing together top Chinese teams throughout, and the action isn’t being dialed down in the playoffs. After taking upper bracket losses, Team Aster and Invictus Gaming will be fighting for their lives in the lower bracket.

How did they get to this point and how have these teams been performing of late? Here’s what bettors need to know about Team Aster vs. Invictus Gaming.

Invictus Gaming looking for rebound in OGA Dota PIT Season 6 after DPC flop

In 2021, Invictus Gaming was one of the clear-cut best teams in the world, winning the ONE Esports Singapore Major and placing fourth at The International 2021. In 2022, Invictus Gaming will be grinding on the second-tier circuit.

This reversal of fortune comes after a disastrous 1-6 showing in the Chinese DPC league. Despite only making one roster change, dropping Hu “Kaka” Liangzhi and replacing him with Pan “Fade” Yi, the team’s performance fell off significantly. The result is relegation from the upper division alongside Phoenix Gaming.

The reversal of fortune is one of the most shocking of the first tour of the Dota Pro Circuit. Though there were both positive and negative surprises to be found in other regions, seeing a team that was a strong contender to win The International getting sent to play with semi-pro opponents was a shock to fans.

Redeeming this somewhat are solid performances in third-party tournaments such as the Huya Winter Invitational and Intel World Open. But the drop in DPC tiers is still stunning.

Team Aster lives up to its reputation in DPC league play

Team Aster has a reputation for looking very strong in regional play and fizzling against international competition. To this point in the season, the squad looks poised to live up to that billing.

Aster went 5-2 in league play and finished third in the regional finals. While that wasn’t the ideal outcome, it was enough to net the team some DPC points and improve Aster’s chances of qualifying for The International 11. Winning here would just make things even better for the team, but according to sportsbooks, Aster isn’t actually much stronger than Invictus Gaming.

Aster vs. Invictus Gaming OGA Dota PIT Season 6 betting odds, analysis

Though Aster was decidedly a cut above Invictus Gaming in Dota Pro Circuit league play, bookmakers aren’t actually all that high on Aster here. On Winners.bet, Aster is sitting at 1.80 compared with Invictus Gaming’s 1.90. The lines vary from site to site, but this match is looking close regardless.

It’s a juicy prospect for anyone that is bullish on Aster’s chances. Though Invictus Gaming has a superior pedigree, there’s no question that Aster has looked better in recent months.
