Elden Ring snagged the most prestigious title at the Game Awards 2022 in Game of the Year, but an interloper interrupted the victory.
The Game Awards 2022 ceremony was eventful, not just because of the games. GOTY’s speech was interrupted by a guy who shouted out Bill Clinton. According to the host, the stranger has been arrested.
The ninth grand stage of the Game Awards 2022 saw Elden Ring dominate big categories and God of War: Ragnarok win the most awards. The ceremony, also known as the Oscars of gaming, was attended by gaming’s biggest and most notable stars. Geoff Keighley hosted the show held on December 8 in front of a live audience for the first time since 2019. The event was livestreamed live-streamed across more than 40 platforms.
But, amid all of that, no one could notice the intruder walking alongside the dev team of Elden Ring to accept the biggest award.
Interloper who shouted out Bill Clinton turns into a meme
Elden Ring snagged the award for Game of the Year, and while the dev team, including the FromSoft director Hidetaka Miyazaki, walked towards the stage, a stranger joined them out of nowhere. It can also be seen in the video that he escorted the team, pretending to be part of the award staff.
Once the team was on the stage, the guy grabbed the mic and did what had the host suppress his smile as he called security. The interloper mumbled something about rabbis and nominated Bill Clinton, the former president of the United States.
“Real quick, I want to thank everybody and say that I think I want to nominate this award to my reformed orthodox rabbi Bill Clinton. Thank you, everybody.” He said.
Now, a portion of the internet is busy whipping up quick memes, and others are concocting conspiracy theories and investigating what the person said. According to a viewer, the interloper was also at the Infowars, and what he said was some sort of anti-semitic phrase.
Whatever the case, the stranger has been arrested, and more would likely become known soon.
