“I will miss you so much”: PewDiePie mourns loss of his dog Maya

YouTube veteran Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg has revealed that his beloved dog Maya has passed away.

PewDiePie and his wife Marzia have turned to vlogging in recent years after “retiring” from YouTube. Fans have actually grown closer to PewDiePie during this stage of his career since they have watched him travel to Japan and build a family with his wife. While he still makes the usual content, he has also started sharing more personal things with his 111 million subscribers.

One of those things is his two dogs, Maya and Edgar. They’ve been featured in a ton of videos and fans have grown to love them. That made it all the more tragic when PewDiePie announced on Instagram that Maya had passed away at 17 years old.

PewDiePie shares sad news about his dog Maya

Earlier this year, PewDiePie opened up about the health struggles that his senior dog Maya was going through. The one-eyed pug was diagnosed with canine dementia, causing anxiety, confusion, and irritability. Despite the sad news, fans were happy that Maya was living out her years with a caring family.

On December 18, PewDiePie told his followers that Maya passed away. While 17 is old for a pug, “no time in the world would’ve ever been enough.” PewDiePie added that he doesn’t think he will ever “love a dog as much as I loved her.”

“Thank you for all the wonderful time we got to spend with you. Thank you for always making my days brighter. Thank you for bringing me closer to Marzia. I will miss you so much and I already do. You will always be in my heart, Maya,” he continued.

Marzia added that she was the “sweetest little potato” and thanked her for many “wonderful years.” The couple felt that Maya had brought them closer together and brought them so many positive memories to treasure.

“You will forever be in my heart. I miss you so much already. I love you Puga-chan,” Marzia wrote.

PewDiePie has been getting a lot of support from his community, who have all responded with sadness over losing such a good dog.
