Fatalities are a big part of what makes Mortal Kombat 1 stand out from other competitive fighting games. Fatalities are deadly, violent, and bloody, showing off each character’s unique fighting style and personality. Here’s how to unlock fatalities in Mortal Kombat 1.

Not all Fatalities are easy to find in Mortal Kombat 1, despite how impactful they are during fights. Every character’s first Fatality is instantly available, but the second Fatality must be unlocked.

Here’s how to unlock Fatalities for each character.

How to unlock second Fatalities in MK1

To unlock a character’s second Fatality, you have to level up their Mastery. At Mastery Level 14, you’ll unlock a character’s second Fatality.

This can take a good amount of grinding. Play online matches or Towers to get a character to Mastery Level 14 faster. Online matches are the fastest way to get character experience — but only if you win. If you lose, you’ll still get experience, but it just won’t be as rapid.

How to do Fatalities in Mortal Kombat 1

Did you know that the first and second Fatalities are both available right away? When you reach Mastery Level 14, you will unlock the input you need to use a character’s Fatality. But if you already know the input, you can use both Fatalities right away.
