The War Within, the Spark of Omens is a valuable resource for players looking to craft high-level gear. However, gathering and using this material can be a bit tricky, especially for those unfamiliar with the process. This guide will walk you through how to obtain the Spark of Omens and how to use it to upgrade your character’s equipment.
Spark of Omens was introduced in WoW: The War Within as part of a revamped profession system. These time-gated resources guarantee a high item-level for crafts, requiring a Fracture Spark of Omens. Even if you don’t use this in your own profession, the item can be use for other players to make high-level items for you.
How to obtain Spark of Omens
To get a Spark of Omens, you need to gather two Fractured Spark of Omens and combine them with 250 Valorstones. The Fractured Spark are primarily earned through weekly quests and events. The steps on how to get them are as follows:
- Complete Weekly Quests
- You can earn Fractured Spark by completing the weekly quest Call of the Worldsoul from Faerin in Dornogal. Every week, this quest provides a cache that has a high chance of containing a Fractured Spark of Omens. However, since this is a weekly quest, you can only earn one Fractured Spark per week.
- Omens Unified Quest:
- Apart from the weekly quest, you can get a Fractured Spark by completing the Omens. This quest is available from custodian Khubon in the Forgegrounds of Dornogal. After completion, it rewards you with an additional Fractured Spark.
- Valorstones
- In addition to the Fractured Spark, you’ll need 250 Valorstones to create the full Spark of Omens. Thankfully, Valorstones can be collected through various in-game activities such as raids, dungeons, and quests. The more content you engage with in Khaz Algar, the faster you can collect these items.
How to use it
Once you’ve gathered the two Fractured Spark of Omens and 250 Valorstones, you can combine them to form a full Spark of Omens. This is used to craft Epic-quality gear, resulting with an item level between 584 and 597. Thankfully, even if you don’t have crafting maxed out, you can still use it by placing Crafting Orders. The steps to submit a crafting order are as follows:
- Head to the
Crafter’s area in Dornogal, where you can find crafting order clerks.
- Provide the necessary materials, including the
Spark of Omens, and pay the crafting fee.
It’s also wise to check the
best-in-slot items
for your character to ensure you’re using your Spark strategically,
as they are limited. Keep an eye on future updates, as item nerfs or changes to embellishments could affect your crafting decisions.
