Former Misfits Gaming bot laner Steven “Hans Sama” Liv is joining Rogue for the 2020 season. The organization has also secured the services of Oskar “Vander” Bogdan’s for the next two years.

ESPN’s Jacob Wolf shared the news regarding Rogue’s 2020 League of Legends European Championship roster. Rogue quickly confirmed the news on Twitter, sharing a video announcing Vander’s re-signing and teasing Han Sama as the new addition towards the end.

Hans Sama leaves Misfits to join Rogue for the LEC 2020

Hans Sama joined Misfits in 2017 after competing on a few lower-tier teams. He found immediate success in the 2017 EU LCS as he helped the team reach Worlds 2017 and place in the top eight.

After a less successful run in the 2018 season, he was demoted to the organization’s academy team, Misfits Premier. He returned to the LEC stage for part of the Summer Split, but struggled alongside the team en route to a ninth-place finish in the league.

Despite the lack of recent success, Rogue seems to think highly of Hans Sama’s abilities. He will be playing with Vander, who has been playing support for the team since February. Vander helped Rogue place fifth in the LEC 2019 Summer Split while sharing his lane with the academy division’s Paweł “Woolite” Pruski.

Vander re-signs for another two years

Rogue confirmed the extension Vander’s contract for two years. Vander is a veteran in the League of Legends scene, starting as a bot laner before switching to support in 2013 with mousesports.

He has played for a number of European teams since, including the H2k Gaming lineup that placed top four at Worlds 2016. He was acquired by Rogue Esports Club in December 2018. A few months later, he was promoted to the main roster.

Rogue’s 2019 season started very poorly as the team finished in last place in the 2019 LEC Spring Split. The addition of Emil “Larssen” Larsson helped the team recover in the second half of the season and make a good run towards a berth in Worlds.

Rogue is hoping the duo of Vander and Hans Sama will be the missing piece for the team as they look to return to the international stage.
